GLENN BECK, RUSH LIMBAUGH PERFORM TO BENEFIT OCCUPY WALL ST., ENTERTAIN PUBLIC

Right-wing talk kings attempt to sing, dance their way into progressive hearts

Don’t miss “The Beckoning,” a presentation that asks the musical question, "What happens when Glenn Beck's second banana falls in love with an outspoken Occupy Wall Street woman? And what is making this country so crazy lately?" "The Beckoning" captures the absurdity of our political climate in a love story full of political ambition, the prominent events and issues of the day, with characters who burst into song... hilarious song.

Find out in "The Beckoning," a satirical political comedy musical starring Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Rachel Maddow, Chris (and Dave) Matthews, and of course, an Occupy Wall Street camp and its members. And let's not forget Sarah Palin and many other surprise guests, including Mitt Romney, Blind Lemon Obama (a blues singer related to the prez) and friends.

A fast-paced, sharp-edged laugh fest, "The Beckoning" brings song parodies ("A Whiter Shade of Palin," "Eight Gays a Week," "Smooth Obaminator" among them), broadcast parodies of both Beck, Limbaugh and MSNBC including commercials in a multi-media format. “The Beckoning” features a live band and a cast that will keep you laughing as it filets modern politics and broadcast culture.

Written and directed by Dan Bernard, of whose last such performance critics said:

“Sharp-edged wit, well-executed, finely scripted, never a dull moment.” – Portland Phoenix

“Packs more laughs into 90 minutes than Saturday Night Live has delivered in the last decade. Excellent cast.” – Portland Forecaster

Bernard has penned and directed many full-cast audio theater-of-the-absurd comedies. His political comedy music and parody has played Toronto, Boston and southern Maine in both theaters and comedy clubs. His most recent screenplay was in collaboration with National Book Award winner Phillip Hoose.
